Batteries, thermometers and lamps will be collected for recycling in Poltava region

Ecobus will also accept hazardous waste in Poltava from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

In the Poltava region, the mobile point for free collection of hazardous waste, the ecobus, has resumed operation.

In November, the ecobus will collect waste in Novosanzharska, Lubenska, Velikorublivska and Hadiatska communities, reports Suspilne.

It is noted that the ecobus has not operated since the beginning of 2023, because there were no applications from local communities. The point resumed work at the end of September and collected a significant amount of waste in 10 communities, namely:

  • 1665 kilograms of batteries;
  • 5040 fluorescent lamps;
  • 100 thermometers.

According to the head of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Bilenkoy, people handed over the largest amount of waste to:

  • Myrhorod community – 777 kilograms of batteries;
  • Zinkivska 43 thermometers;
  • Dykanska – 1511 fluorescent lamps.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Poltava region in August in Pyryatin, the first 30 tons of waste of cardboard packaging collected by enterprises and residents of four communities were sent for processing.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, four waste processing plants will be built in Poltava Oblast, which will be able to process up to 500,000 tons of waste per year.
