It is forbidden to visit the forests of Poltava Oblast due to extremely high fire danger

Foresters prevented a large-scale fire in the forest massif of the Malopereshchepyn forestry in Poltava Oblast thanks to the quick detection and elimination of the fire.

The fire damaged 0.18 hectares of the forest floor, but the forest fire was avoided, reports the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" in Telegram.

According to foresters, fires most often occur due to the fault of the population, in particular due to:

  • unextinguished bonfire;
  • carelessly thrown butt.

It is noted that against the background of dry and hot weather, this can quickly cause a large-scale fire.

The message emphasized that currently the forests of the Poltava region are of the highest class of fire danger, so it is forbidden to visit the forests.

"We remind you that the ban on visiting forests for the civilian population continues until the end of martial law," the press service added.

We would like to remind you that on Monday, August 21, in the Mykolaiv Oblast, there was a second fire in two days in the Andriivsky forest tract. The burning area reached 20 hectares.

As previously reported by EcoPolitics, in the forests of Zhytomyr Oblast, 72 video surveillance cameras were installed of the "Eye of the Forest" video surveillance system, to quickly detect and eliminate forest fires. Now the forests of the region are under triple supervision.
