The warhead of the drone did not detonate and remained inside the wind generator

In Mykolaiv region, police recovered the warhead of an enemy Shahed drone that hit one of the wind turbines.

It was taken out of the propeller of the installation at an altitude of 55 meters and detonated under controlled conditions, the press service of the Mykolaiv regional police reports.

This height is equivalent to the size of an 18-story building.

It is noted that after the hit, the warhead of the drone did not detonate and remained inside the wind turbine, namely in the area of the screw. It was found thanks to a metal detector.

"In addition to the height, the difficulty was also that when Shahed hit the propeller of the windmill, it fell into pieces all over the plane, and the metal detector was triggered almost everywhere. We made holes and with the help of special equipment, after a thorough inspection, we removed the dangerous part of the drone so as not to damage it. Having already descended to the ground, they were destroyed by controlled detonation," said the deputy head of the explosives department of the police of Mykolaiv Oblast, Mykola Tserush.

On January 8, a wind turbine of Elementum Energy was damaged by a drone attack in the Odesa region near Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. Initially, local Telegram channels suggested that the wind turbine was knocked down by a squally wind.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, DTEK and the Danish wind giant Vestas agreed to build the second stage of the Tiligulska wind farm in Mykolaiv region, which will increase its capacity to 500 MW, or 384 MW.
