The waste polluted the agricultural areas of the reserve lands

Prosecutors in Kirovohrad region have sent to court an indictment against the former director of a garbage company over land pollution and damage.

His company stored waste in unauthorized places outside the landfill, which caused damage of more than UAH 3.5 million, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

In 2021, the Oleksandriia City Council entered into an agreement with the accused's company to provide services for the maintenance and disposal of household waste at the city's landfill.

The press service said that the contaminated territories are agricultural and are the community's reserve lands. According to the findings of the examination, such pollution caused damage worth more than UAH 3.5 million.

In January, the former director of the garbage company was notified of suspicion for polluting and damaging the land of Oleksandria, which caused damage worth UAH 3.5 million.
