Specialists do not go to work to block such an opportunity

The Russian occupiers want to connect the wind power plants in the Kherson region, which were not damaged by their shelling, to the energy system of the previously occupied Crimea.

Andrii Konechenkov, head of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA), reported this in a comment to Energoreform.

"The issue is already being considered in the Kherson region. The Russians want to annex our operating wind power plants to Crimea. I don't know how it will end, but our specialists do not go to work to block such a possibility," he said.

Konechenkov also added that 85% of Ukraine's wind generation is located in the occupied territory or had to stop due to security reasons.

"We have already lost five turbines. Among them is one turbine of Sivashenergoprom, which was shot at. Four more turbines of the VindKraft company were damaged. Unfortunately, our specialists cannot enter the territory, because the shelling continues or they are not allowed there," explained the head of UWEA.

As reported Ecopolitic on the eve, the Russian invasion of Ukraine may lead to losses for the renewable energy sector of Ukraine for more than $1 billion

We will also remind that the UFuture company implements a 300 MW wind power project in Western Ukraine . For its implementation, partners will be sought in Europe.
