The creation of a modern landfill will help solve the problem of Lozova and neighboring communities

In Kharkiv Oblast, they plan to implement in Lozova a complex project regarding the construction of a new landfill for solid household waste and the repair of treatment facilities.

The project will be implemented with the help of Italian partners, reports the mayor of Lozova Serhiy Zelenskyi on Telegram.

He said that the objects that are in the community have exhausted their resources long ago. Large-scale modernization is needed, which will help preserve the environment.

"The creation of an advanced training ground in Lozova solved the problem not only of our community, but also of the neighboring ones," Zelenskyi emphasized.

He also said that the community is currently negotiating with partners on the implementation of these environmental projects. In June, Deputy Mayor Denys Petrenko and Head of the Economy Department Serhiy Grankin studied the experience of municipalities in Italy.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that on the eve of the full-scale invasion of Kharkiv Oblast in Dergachy, on the site of the old landfill, they planned to open an eco-center, where people can go skiing and snowboarding throughout the year. The territory was planned to be equipped with several tracks, lifts and other infrastructure facilities.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, eco-inspectors conducted raids in more than 10 communities in Kharkiv Oblast where they discovered a number of spontaneous garbage dumps. Fines totaling 23,000 hryvnias were imposed on 14 local officials and 33 citizens.
