The defendants resold more than 7 hectares of water fund land using fake documents

Back in 2023, land in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region was transferred to the defendants' ownership on the basis of forged documents. Now they face trial on three counts under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the indictment against all those involved in the deal has been sent to court.

At the end of 2023, three defendants registered ownership of a plot of land measuring more than 7 hectares on the basis of fictitious documents – a state act of ownership and an official letter from the State Geocadastre. The land belonged to the water fund of the Khalepianska rural community.

In February 2024, in order to legalize the property, the participants in the scheme sold the land to a controlled enterprise. The value of the illegally alienated plot is estimated at more than UAH 50 million.

The dealers are charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: fraud on an especially large scale, laundering of property obtained by criminal means, and forgery of documents.

The registration of ownership based on fictitious documents was successfully canceled through the intervention of the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Justice.

Earlier, the actions of the prosecutor's office allowed the return of land in a botanical reserve in Cherkasy region to community ownership.
