The reform of the state environmental monitoring system should turn it into an efficient, transparent and open system

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources will hold a discussion of the analytical document "Environmental Monitoring: Analytical note on the state and prospects for the development of the state environmental monitoring system".

During the round table, which will be held on Thursday, February 16, they will also discuss ways of developing the system of environmental monitoring in Ukraine, the Ministry of Environment reports on Facebook.

It is noted that to participate in the online event, you must register via the link by 10:00 a.m. on February 16. The discussion will start at 15:00.

The press service emphasized that the reform of the state environmental monitoring system and its transformation into an effective, transparent and open system is underway in Ukraine. The state system should become an important component of state administration in the field of environmental protection and help promptly identify and respond to environmental threats.

The Ministry of Environment invites representatives of public organizations, associations, state authorities, businesses, international projects, scientific institutions and other interested parties to participate in the discussion.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt in the second reading and as a whole the government draft law No. 7327 "On the State Environmental Monitoring System".

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the EBA criticized draft law No. 7327 "On the state system of environmental monitoring" for the alleged transfer of responsibilities for the implementation of state environmental monitoring to business.
