The association of co-owners of apartment buildings (condominiums) Polytech Plaza in Kyiv has implemented a solar power plant (SES) project that provides them with electricity.

Members of the condominium at the meeting agreed to take part in the GreenDIM Program. Condominiums and housing cooperatives can become its participants and receive grants for the installation of SPPs and heat pumps for the house.

Co-owners of the condominium Polytech Plaza established:

  • inverter with a total capacity of 24 kW;
  • solar panels that generate almost 20 kW of solar energy;
  • batteries that store almost 60 kW.

This equipment provides uninterrupted power supply for 2 elevators, water pumps, video surveillance and equipment of all providers, as well as lighting of common areas.

The total cost of the project is UAH 1.3 million, of which UAH 827,000 is a grant paid to residents by the Energy Efficiency Fund under the Green House program.

The cost of work for one apartment (area — 60 m²) amounted to UAH 1.7 thousand.

According to forecast calculations, residents will be able to save 18,200 kWh of electricity per year. In monetary terms, this is equal to 78.7 thousand hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic recently reported, in one of the maternity hospitals in the Svyatoshyn district of the capital finished installation solar power plant with a capacity of 120 kW. It will ensure, in particular, the operation of the equipment of the operating unit and the neonatal intensive care unit.
