In case of shortness of breath, cough or insomnia, you should consult a doctor

Residents of Kyiv were urged to close their windows and limit their time outside due to a fire in the peatlands in the Buchansky and Vyshgorod districts.

Rescuers are working to extinguish the fire, reports KMDA.

In order to protect your own health from the negative effects of fires, experts advise to limit being outdoors, especially children and pregnant women should refrain from long walks.

It is also a good idea to keep the windows closed, especially at night and early in the morning. When opening the windows, experts advise hanging the curtains with a moistened cloth and periodically changing it. In addition, it is worth turning on the air conditioning and air purification systems and performing wet cleaning.

"It is useful to put containers with water in order to increase the humidity of the air," the message says.

Kyiv residents were also urged to increase fluid consumption to 2-3 liters per day for adults. To compensate for the loss of salts and microelements, it is recommended to drink salted and mineral alkaline water, milk-acid drinks (skimmed milk, milk whey), juices, mineralized drinks, oxygen-protein cocktails.

"If you develop shortness of breath, cough or insomnia, you should consult a doctor," the material said.
