Ekoprom Energy Invest LLC presents its own patented technology for gasification of solid organic waste. The solution is distinguished by the complete absence of liquid fractions in the reaction products, high environmental performance, and complete utilization of the organic component. The technology complies with Ukrainian and European legislation in the field of waste management, environmental safety, and sustainable development.
Ekoprom Energy Invest LLC is a Ukrainian engineering and manufacturing company based in Dnipro that implements advanced gasification technologies in the field of waste management. Their mission is to contribute to Ukraine's post-war recovery, integration into the EU's “green course,” and the development of climate technologies within the framework of ESG principles. They are currently building their first plant for the gasification of solid organic waste in Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region. The production capacity of this industrial facility is up to 20 MW/hour.
For testing purposes, they have created a working prototype of a gasifier (laboratory stand) with a capacity of 200-250 kW/h for gas. The specified capacity of the stand does not exceed 4 times the ratio to the minimum productivity of an industrial gasifier, which corresponds to the recommended minimum 8-fold power coefficient created as part of a pre-project study of technical solutions planned for implementation.
PATENTED DEVELOPMENTS AND TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
The company has developed and patented a number of technical and technological solutions, including the production of gasifiers of various capacities:
- UA 106900 U – Method for obtaining gas generator gas;
- UA 106525 U – Installation for obtaining gas generator gas;
- А 2024 03941 – Method for recycling odorant containers and neutralizing odorant residues in containers and neutralizing solid organic waste by converting it into something useful;
- TU U 28.2-38476560-002:2016 – Periodic action solid fuel gasifiers (PAGF).
TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE TECHNOLOGY WE HAVE CREATED
The gasification method we have developed is a technological process that can convert any solid organic waste containing carbon and other organic compounds into gas generator gas. A distinctive feature of their technology is that it works with the full composition of volatile components of the substance and only a small amount of carbon in gasifiers closed from the external environment. The reaction temperature reaches 900-1300°C, and each particle of the substance in the main reaction zone reaches 1500-2000°C for 100 seconds.
As a result of this technological feature, the reaction products at the outlet of the gasifier reactor do not contain liquid fractions, including fusel oil resin, and resinous water, and the gas formed does not contain phenols, furans, dioxins, and other harmful carcinogenic and toxic compounds, since all of these are completely decomposed in the gasifier reactor.
Emissions during combustion are the same as those from natural gas combustion – CO and NOx – but their concentration is lower when operating on generator gas, so no gas emission purification system is required. The resulting gas can be used as fuel in power units for the production of heat and/or electricity (waste-to-energy) using cogeneration plants. After the gasification process is complete, we obtain carbon residue (technical carbon), which has a fairly high commercial potential, namely as an export-oriented product, and can be used as a raw material in many industries. This feature allows 100% recycling of organic waste.
Advantages of the gasification disposal process:
- Complete decomposition of toxic compounds (phenols, furans, dioxins, and a whole range of aromatic compounds based on benzene rings);
- No liquid fractions at the outlet (resins, fusions, resinous waters);
- Production of gas generator gas with low CO and NOx content (lower than natural gas);
- No need for an additional gas purification system;
- A by-product of gasification is technical carbon, a valuable raw material for industry.
ECOLOGICAL AND RESOURCE EFFECT OF GASIFICATION
Development of technological solutions that determine the possibility of using the technology we have created as an effective alternative to direct incineration of solid organic waste and partial replacement of traditional types of hydrocarbon fuels, such as natural gas, with gas generator gas obtained by gasification of prepared solid organic waste using their technology.
Gasification technology as a whole allows:
- Avoiding the construction of new industrial landfills and solid waste landfills;
- Disposing of hazardous organic waste and non-hazardous waste with an organic component;
- Safe disposal of odorant residues;
- Utilize wind turbine blades through gasification;
- Achieve a complete zero waste to landfill cycle.
COMPLIANCE OF GASIFICATION TECHNOLOGY WITH UKRAINIAN AND EU LEGISLATION
The technological solution of Ekoprom Energy Invest LLC complies with:
- The Law of Ukraine “On Waste Management”;
- EU Directives: 2008/98/EC (waste framework), 2010/75/EU (industrial emissions);
- EC Decision 2019/2010 (BAT conclusions for waste incineration);
- The Law of Ukraine “On Alternative Energy Sources” dated 20.02.2003 No. 555-IV, as amended;
- Law of Ukraine “On Alternative Fuels” dated May 21, 2009, No. 1391-VI, as amended;
- Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles of State Climate Policy”;
- United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement;
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 761 dated June 21, 2024, “On Approval of the Procedure for the Use of Funds from the State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency Transformation”;
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 229 of March 1, 2024, on Technical Requirements for the Operation of Waste Incineration Plants and Waste Co-incineration Plants;

CONCLUSIONS OF THE GASIFICATION METHOD OF THIS TECHNOLOGY
The gasification technology of Ekoprom Energy Invest LLC provides:
- Complete utilization of organic hazardous and non-hazardous waste;
- Environmentally safe energy generation;
- Replacement of fossil fuels without prior gas treatment;
- Prospects for the export use of technical carbon;
- Compliance with European and Ukrainian environmental standards;
- Compliance with the principles of alternative energy.
The industrial implementation of their technology will have a significant impact on the waste processing sector in Ukraine, the European Union, and any other country in the world.
