Wind power plants generated 3.56% of all energy

In Ukraine in July, solar generation produced 28.33% of all energy, and about half of the energy was produced from renewable sources.

About this according to the statistics published by the CEO of Yasno Serhiy Kovalenko on Facebook.

He said that the share of each energy source sold on the market in July reached:

  • nuclear fuel – 23.46%;
  • coal – 6.68%;
  • natural gas – 13.01%;
  • fuel oil – 1.83%;
  • biomass and biogas – 3.1%;
  • solar – 28.33%;
  • wind – 3.56%;
  • hydro – 12.37%;
  • not defined (balancing market and import) – 1.59%;
  • no information – 5.98%.

"And imports are growing," he emphasized Kovalenko.

"RES are playing an increasingly important role. It's nice. The next step is the accumulation and storage of energy. This is a difficult task, but it can be solved," commented user Anatoliy Bobrovytskyi in the discussion of the post.

We remind you that in Ukraine in 2021 69.7% of electricity was produced at power plants that do not have carbon emissions, namely nuclear power plants, hydroelectric power plants, hydroelectric power plants and renewable energy sources, which is 6.1% more than in 2020 year.

As previously reported by EcoPolitics, the new report of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) on renewable energy statistics showed that in 2021 the total amount of energy produced from RES reached 7,858 TWh. About 55%, i.e. 4,275 TWh, green energy fell on hydropower.
