Because of this, the German Federal Police decided to increase security measures at all major airports in the country

The so-called eco-activists of the movement Letzte Generation ("The Last Generation") on July 24 stopped the work of Cologne/Bonn Airport for several hours, and today stopped flights to Frankfurt am Main for several hours.

It is reported by Spiegel.

Several protesters were able to get on the runway and glued themselves to it. Because of this, take-off and landing of aircraft stopped for several hours at the largest airport in Germany, which is also one of the most powerful transit hubs in the world.

Eco-activists have demanded a halt to oil, gas and coal production by 2030. On their official X page, they posted a photo from Frankfurt Airport and announced their demands.

"Continued extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal is a threat to our existence. We have joined forces at the international level: get rid of fossils by 2030!" – said Letzte Generation.

Currently, air traffic has been partially restored. Airplanes are taking off and landing, but not on all runways yet.

Airport and airline employees urged passengers to check the status of their flights on airline websites in advance.

Later, the German police announced that a criminal case had been opened against the activists for failure to comply with the requirements of the "Assembly Act", dangerous interference with air traffic and violation of borders.

It is a pity that such bad "actions" lead to only one thing – an equal sign is placed between the concepts of "eco-activism" and "terrorism". Thus, no one will remember the efforts of many good eco-activists, but they will definitely remember the fact that they could not fly out on time because of "eco-activists"...

In May, EcoPolitic reported that 80-year-old ecoactivists of the Just Stop Oil movement ("Just stop the oil") with a hammer attacked Charter of Freedoms in the British Library.
