The EBRD will provide €500,000 to Ukrainian companies for the development of green technologies

The most popular field of work of the winning companies was the protection of intellectual property

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union will provide 13 small and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine with grants for the development of green technologies in the total amount of €0.5 million.

Companies will receive up to €50,000 for the development and implementation of initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and prevent climate change, reports Ukrainian energy industry.

"The initiative provides for the provision of financing for green technologies in various fields, from the modernization of production lines to the protection of intellectual property," the authors explained.

The material emphasized that the most popular areas of work of the winning companies are:

  • intellectual property protection;
  • certification;
  • software development;
  • engineering

Winners of 2022:

  • "Re-Leaf Technologies" – production of paper from fallen leaves and secondary cellulose. Reduces CO2 emissions  up to 78%, uses circular economy principles and reduces energy and water consumption;
  • Friend  development of hardware and software for farmers and agriculture. Optimizes processes for the most efficient use of agricultural resources, reduces climate impact;
  • Input Soft – a SaaS platform ("software as a service") for managing the resources and data of airport ground services. Reduces emissions and fuel consumption during ground handling;
  • Meredoth – development of wireless charging stations for micromobility. Reduces carbon footprint;
  • Guardaritsa Tres  development of a navigation device for agriculture. Reduces fuel costs, as well as the use of lubricants, plant protection products, fertilizers and seeds;
  • Advance – offers Advisor Scada service for more efficient real estate management by reducing energy consumption;
  • Tsarbominer – proprietary CO2 capture technology  from the air for further use in greenhouses. Reduces CO2 emissions;
  • PDM Engineering – hardware and software complex for monitoring, forecasting and optimization of energy consumption. Increases energy efficiency, reduces the carbon footprint of electricity generation;
  • group of companies "Teplotechnika" – ReCon integrated software and hardware solution for measuring heat consumption in old-type residential buildings with vertical heating distribution. Allows you to switch from payment according to standards to payment for actual consumed volumes, consumption management by installing thermostats on heating radiators and investing in energy efficiency, water consumption measurement services;
  • "Hemp technologies" – development of hemp-based wall panels. Significantly reduces CO2 emissions from building materials; products for residential construction with better parameters of the internal environment;
  • S. Lab – development of biodegradable packaging material using stems of technical hemp and mushroom mycelium. Replaces foam and other extruded plastic packaging materials;
  • AEV Charging Factory – development of charging stations for electric vehicles for local and international markets. The most technologically advanced product for charging most electric cars;
  • Ecofactor Charge  production of a complete set of charging stations for electric vehicles for commercial and private use.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Ukrainian eco-startup Releaf Paper, which produces paper from fallen leaves, received a €2.5 million grant from the European Commission for the construction of the first factory.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, said that, despite the military actions, the bank did not lower environmental and climate standards during the evaluation of projects for investment in Ukraine.
