After the outbreak of a full-scale war and the occupation of parts of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, the top 5 largest wind farms in our country have changed radically, as almost all wind generation facilities in Ukraine were located here.
This is stated in an article by RBC-Ukraine, which focused on the state of wind energy in Ukraine.
Currently, the list of the most powerful wind power plants in our country looks like this:
1. Tyligul wind farm
Location: on the shore of the Tyligul estuary in the Mykolaiv region.
Owner: DTEK.
Planned project capacity: 500 MW.
Currently producing power: 114 MW.
Launch date: May 2023.

In the first year, the Tyligul wind farm produced 333 million kWh of electricity for the energy system of Ukraine. Currently, preparatory work for the construction of the second stage is underway. DTEK plans to fully implement the project in 2025.
2. LLC "Dniester wind power plant"
Location: Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky district, Odesa region.
Owner: VR Capital. The station itself was built by a subsidiary of Elementum Energy.
Planned project capacity: 360 million kWh per year.
It currently produces power: 100.5 MW.
Launch date: May 2023.
The planned volumes of production will be enough for 180,000 households.
3. Yuzhne Energy LLC
Location: Odesa district.
Owner: Hong Kong company "Hero Asia Investment".
Planned project capacity: 76.5 MW.
Launch date: 2021
4. LLC "Orivska VES"
Location: near Truskavets in the Lviv region.
Owner: ECO OPTIMA group of companies.
Planned project capacity: 54.6 MW.
Currently producing power: 49.5 MW.
This is the largest wind station in Western Ukraine and the Carpathians. It has 9 windmills, which are installed on a mountain ridge near the village. Oriv is 10 km from the Kyiv-Chop highway. Each turbine produces 5.5 MW of "green" electricity.
5. "Ovid Wind" LLC
Location: near Ovidiopol in Odesa region.
Owner: "OVID WIND" LLC.
Built: by the Turkish company Güriş holding in partnership with the American General Electric.
Planned project capacity: 32.67 MW.
Currently producing power: 32.4 MW.
Launch date: 2019
The third largest wind power plant in the Odesa region. It consists of 9 turbines produced by General Electric with a capacity of 3.6 MW each.
Together with the blades, the height of one wind generator is 200 m, which makes them one of the tallest structures in Ukraine. For example, the capital's "Motherland" monument is twice as tall.
At the end of July in Transcarpathia started working the first wind farm.
