With an average consumption of 20 kWh per 100 km, this distance will cost the owner of an electric car an average of UAH 370.
This calculation was made by analysts at the Automotive Market Research Institute.
They noted that this is UAH 10 more expensive than last month.
The price of kilowatts on public chargers
The analysts studied the cost of 1 kWh at the leading network electric charging stations (ESS) in Ukraine. With “slow” charging, it ranges from UAH 13.49-15.95, with fast charging – from UAH 16.99 to 18.49.

The average price of a kilowatt-hour received through the AC port is now (rounded) UAH 15.15 (+0.26 UAH), and through the DC port – UAH 17.82 (+0.42 UAH). Compared to April, the price per kilowatt-hour for most operators has increased – from 50 kopecks to UAH 1.
Experts noted that prices depend on the location of the filling station and can fluctuate even within the same network. They recommend checking the price in the applications of the gas station operators.
Higher tariffs are more common at roadside filling stations, especially if they are high-speed (80-100 kW or more). Lower tariffs are mostly found at filling stations located in parking lots of various businesses – hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, etc.
Are there any savings?
Experts have noted that even if you charge an electric car exclusively at electric charging stations (ESS), it will be more economical than refueling a car with an internal combustion engine (ICE).
According to analysts, the least expensive option for refueling a small car with an internal combustion engine equipped with gas cylinders (at a consumption of 12 liters/100 km of propane-butane mixture) will cost UAH 430. Experts have noted that this is still a rather optimistic value. Usually, in practice, cars with CNG require more fuel.
A gasoline passenger car with a consumption of 10 liters/100 km will require 550 UAH more fuel for the same distance.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Chinese automaker BYD has introduced the fastest charging system for electric cars in the world. It provides a driving range of 470 km in just 5 minutes of charging.
