The EcoCommittee of the Verkhovna Rada will hold a meeting on March 29

People's deputies will consider draft law No. 6544 "On the rational consumption of natural resources and products", which will increase the prices of non-ecological goods

On Wednesday, March 29, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 15:00 p.m.

EcoPolitic has prepared the agenda of the committee for its readers.

The People's Deputies will consider draft laws regarding which the Eco Committee is designated as the main:

  • draft law No. 6544 "On the modernization of state policy in the direction of achieving the Goals of sustainable development and stimulating the implementation of a rational model of consumption of natural resources and products", for which the ecocommittee is designated as the main one. The document is designed to increase the prices of non-ecological goods.
  • draft Law No. 8410 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Environmental Impact Assessment

In addition, the eco-committee must submit its proposals to:

  • draft Law No. 8415 "On State Control of International Transfers of Strategic Goods";
  • draft Law No. 9111 "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts on Simplifying the Procedure for Importing, Accounting and Distribution of Humanitarian Aid";
  • draft Law No. 9066 "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving Safety in Railway Transport";
  • draft Law No. 9067 "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses Regarding Strengthening Liability for Interference with Railway Transport";
  • draft Law No. 5648 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On State Aid to Business Entities" and other legislative acts of Ukraine on State Aid to Business Entities".

People's deputies will also consider:

  • approval of the recommendations of the eco-committee on the issue: "On the report of the Head of the State Forestry Agency Yury Bolokhovets on the results of the work in 2022, the leadership of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the head of the State Specialized Economic Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" I.M. Lytsur on problematic issues in the forest industry and analysis of the practice of applying legislative acts in this area in accordance with the first clause of the first part of Article 14 of the Law of Ukraine "On Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine";
  • information of the Ministry of Environment and the State Environmental Inspection regarding the implementation personnel policy of the State Inspectorate, in particular in the Transcarpathian region.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the purpose of draft law No. 6544 "On the modernization of state policy in the direction of achieving the Goals of sustainable development and stimulating the implementation of a rational model of consumption of natural resources and products" is to stimulate citizens and businesses to rationally use national natural resources.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Transcarpathian District Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion to the former head of the State Environmental Inspection in the Transcarpathian Region for possession of scratch cards, so-called coupons, for 930 liters of fuel.
