The Ecocommittee approved the report on its work for February – August 2023

On Wednesday, August 30, the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis government draft law No.9219 "On delimiting the powers of central executive bodies in the field of industrial safety, labor protection, occupational hygiene, handling of explosive materials, implementation of state mining supervision, implementation of state supervision and control over compliance with the requirements of legislation on labor and population employment".

A number of comments were made to the document for finishing before the second reading, it is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

Also, the eco-committee reviewed its conclusion of May 18, 2022 (protocol No. 124) regarding draft law No.6513 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Hydrometeorological Activities" regarding the improvement of hydrometeorological activities in Ukraine." The People's Deputies adopted a conclusion and recommended that the Council adopt the draft law in the first reading as a basis, taking into account the proposals.

In addition, the eco-committee instructed the sub-committee on forest resources, biodiversity, natural landscapes, objects of the nature reserve fund and on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the provisions of EU law, together with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, to finalize draft law No.9470 "On Amendments to of some laws of Ukraine regarding the improvement of issues related to the protection and use of animal and plant life" and return to its consideration.

The Ecocommittee recommended that the parliament also adopt the draft law as a basis No.9458 "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption" regarding the improvement of some anti-corruption mechanisms" subject to the preliminary adoption of draft law No.9457 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption" regarding the improvement of some anti-corruption mechanisms".

The eco-committee also recommended that the Committee on Anti-corruption Policy independently decide on the decision on the draft law No.9457 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption" regarding the improvement of some anti-corruption mechanisms"

Also at the meeting, the Report of the Committee on the work for the period of the ninth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation (February – August 2023) was considered and approved.

As reported by EcoPolitics earlier, in August the ecocommittee for the second time recommended to the Verkhovna Rada to vote and as a whole draft law No.6004-d “On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to safety for life and health environment" ("On industrial pollution").
