In the Rivne region, eco-inspectors calculated more than 2.1 million hryvnias in environmental damage from the August 28 Russian missile attack on the Sarne forest farm.

The attack caused land contamination with chemicals and a forest fire, reports the press service of State Inspectorate (SEI) of the Polissky District.

The fire damaged almost 60 trees to the point of cessation, and also caused a significant release of pollutants into the atmosphere.

"How unfortunate it is, but the occupiers continue to commit war crimes against the environment, and we, in turn, continue our work in recording and calculating the damages caused by their actions," the SEI press service noted.

In the message, it was noted that the eco-inspectors handed over the materials and calculations to the Operational Headquarters and law enforcement agencies for involvement in criminal cases and, in the future, recovery of damages caused to the environment from the Russian Federation.

"We do not stop work, we continue to perform our functions and record the facts that negatively affected the environment," the press service emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Sumy region, shelling by Russian troops of the outskirts of the village of Stara Huta in the Shostky District destroyed 203 pines and birches in the Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park, which caused damage to the environment in the amount of UAH 6.12 million.

As previously reported by EcoPolitics, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets said that damage from Russian aggression to the environment of Kharkiv region reached 83 billion UAH.
