The 67-year-old head of an agricultural enterprise in the Buchansky district of the Kyiv region did not take out production waste in a timely manner and stored it on a leased plot of land.

A private agricultural company leased a plot of land with an area of over 65,000 square meters. m. The director of the enterprise was either unable or unwilling to ensure the timely removal of waste. Therefore, the residues accumulated and merged on the territory of the leased plot.
Inspectors of the State Environmental Inspection of the Capital District confirmed the fact of pollution. They conducted an examination and established that the suspect posed a danger to the environment and people. Eco-inspectors also calculated the damage caused to the environment by unused waste. It amounted to more than UAH 3 million.
Police investigators informed the perpetrator of suspicion of land pollution or damage (Part 1 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Land pollution or damage"). The head of an agricultural enterprise faces a fine of up to 200 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 3 years.
