There are currently no critical levels of air pollution being recorded in Ukraine. Major cities have moderate or low levels of pollution, so people need not worry about restrictions on spending time outdoors.
This is evidenced by data from the international monitoring platform IQAir.
Air quality in Kyiv is currently rated as moderate. The main pollutant is PM 2.5 particulate matter. Its concentration stands at 9.1 µg/m3, compared with the WHO standard of 5.5 µg/m3.

Among the locations with the highest levels of pollution are Trostyanetska Street (9.9 µg/m3), Kakhovska Street (10.3 µg/m3), Sichovykh Striltsiv Street (12.9 µg/m3).

Pollution levels are also moderate in the following regional centres:
- Zaporizhzhia — 14.1 µg/m3;
- Ivano-Frankivsk — 12.5 µg/m3;
- Chernihiv — 12.4 µg/m3;
- Kherson — 11.7 µg/m3;
- Kharkiv — 10 µg/m³.
For the other major cities, the platform classifies air quality as good:
- Mykolaiv — 9 µg/m3;
- Cherkasy — 8.4 µg/m3;
- Odessa — 8.3 µg/m3;
- Chernivtsi — 7.6 µg/m3;
- Dnipro — 7 µg/m3;
- Ternopil — 5.6 µg/m3;
- Lviv — 4.6 µg/m3;
- Zhytomyr — 4.6 µg/m3;
- Khmelnytskyi — 4.4 µg/m3;
- Lutsk — 4.3 µg/m3;
- Vinnytsia — 3.6 µg/m3;
- Poltava — 3.4 µg/m3;
- Uzhhorod — 3 µg/m3;
- Rivne — 2.9 µg/m3.
It is worth remembering that air pollution has a negative impact on human health. Constant exposure to it can lead to respiratory or cardiovascular diseases.
