The Synevyr National Nature Park has recently started offering a new type of guided tour. Thanks to a grant programme, the park has acquired electric bikes, meaning that trips through the picturesque countryside can now be quicker and less tiring, whilst causing no harm to the natural environment.
This was announced on the Synevyr National Park’s Facebook page.
The park considers the use of this type of electric transport to be a modern, eco-friendly solution that expands the possibilities for ecotourism. The initiative was implemented by the ‘Eco-Ride Kolochava: travel without harming nature’ project in collaboration with the national park and the Frankfurt Zoological Society.

A new way to connect with nature
Thanks to eco-friendly transportation, visitors can better explore the reserve’s nature. The park highlighted that with a bicycle, you can reach the most remote corners of the sanctuary, see breathtaking views, and enjoy the mountain air – all without harming the environment.
“This type of recreation will become accessible for active young people, families with children, and older visitors alike, since the electric motor greatly eases travel in mountainous terrain. At the same time, it will help promote outdoor activities, the development of local tourism, and increase the number of visitors who wish to discover the mountains in a responsible, nature-respecting way,” the Synevyr park page stated.

Recall that another type of entertainment flourishing in the Carpathians cannot be called environmentally friendly. Jeeping systematically destroys soils in protected areas, leading to biodiversity loss and erosion. Previously, the Ministry of Economy reported on intensified controls, a mandate received by the State Environmental Inspectorate and national park administrations.
