Ukraine has simplified reporting regulations regarding the management of used lubricants by eliminating duplicative control procedures. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a corresponding resolution.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
The deregulation of the process is enshrined in the government resolution "Certain Issues Regarding the Conduct of Economic Activities in the Management of Hazardous Waste."
The new document abolishes the outdated reporting system for the collection and disposal of used oils. To this end, Resolution No. 1221 of December 17, 2012, "Certain Issues Regarding the Collection, Transportation, Storage, Treatment (Recycling), Disposal, and/or Neutralization of Used Oils," has been declared invalid.
The document also amends the licensing conditions governing hazardous waste management activities. The new version aligns administrative procedures with other Ukrainian laws.
"The implementation of the resolution will ensure a clear and transparent mechanism for obtaining licenses for business entities in the field of hazardous waste management, simplify business interaction with the state, and contribute to bringing national legislation in line with European standards," the Ministry of Economy believes.
EcoPolitic previously reported that Ukrainian businesses are calling on the government to resume work on the law regarding mining waste. Currently, the regulation of mining waste does not reflect the reality of the industry. In particular, materials that could be reused are classified as waste on paper.
