Wastewater entered the Kamianka River in the Zhytomyr region due to the silting of the sewage collector as a result of rains. Experts took water samples.
This was reported by the press service of the State Environmental Inspection of the Polissya District.
Specialists from Zhytomyrvodokanal arrived at the site of the river pollution to clean the sewerage network and eliminate the emergency situation. Representatives of the instrumental and laboratory control took water samples for analysis.

After the environmental inspection specialists examined the discharge of wastewater into the river, it turned out that a sewage pipe had been installed without permission, from which untreated wastewater was being discharged. The results of the water quality study will be published within 5 days.

After the completion of repair work by municipal services, the Environmental Inspection will send a request to the Zhytomyrvodokanal municipal enterprise to find out the volume of pollutants discharged into the water. This data will help calculate the damage and bring to justice the individuals responsible for polluting the river.
As EcoPolitic noted earlier, in Zaporizhia, an excavator is cleaning the Mokra Moskovka River from oil pollution, but it has not been possible to completely stop the spread of the pollutant downstream.
