Green foam appeared near the water intake of KRBP “Zelenbud” in Zaporizhzhia

Specialists from the State Environmental Inspectorate took water samples from the Dnipro River in the area of the river port in Zaporizhzhia. This was prompted by numerous reports from residents about the appearance of green foam and algae in the water.

This was reported by the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southern District on social media.

The inspection was carried out jointly with representatives of the police and the city council's environmental safety department. On the surface of the water, the specialists found patches of foam and algae, which gave the water a green tint.

Experts state that the foam does not have the smell of detergents and does not lather. No signs of pollution were detected.

500 m upstream:

9.05 pH, with a standard of 8.5 pH units

9.16 mg/dm³, with a standard of at least 4 mg/dm³

24.9°C

Specialists continue to study the water quality in the Dnipro River and will publish the results of a full analysis later.

Earlier, EcoPolitic reported that Kyiv residents noticed the greening of water in the Dnipro and large clumps of algae on the shore.
