In the summer, the Aurora chain is 100% powered by energy from solar panels.

The Avrora multimarket chain has installed solar power plants at key distribution centers in Vinnytsia and Poltava. The company has saved UAH 12 million over two years of operation.

This was reported by Forbes.

Power Capacity

According to the publication, the chain began investing in green energy in 2023. The capacity of the solar power plants is 650 kW in Poltava and 535 kW in Vinnytsia. The generated energy fully meets the needs of the logistics centers, and there is even a surplus that the company feeds into the general grid.

The capacity of the Poltava plant could fully supply electricity to 183 apartments or 3 hospitals, while the Vinnytsia plant could supply 150 apartments and 2 hospitals, according to the company.

“The idea of installing solar panels was obvious, and what prompted us to implement it was the desire to save money and help the cities where we operate,” said Ruslan Dubovyk, Deputy Director of the Energy Efficiency Sector of the Avrora Distribution Center Network.

Plans for the Future

The company will continue to invest in solar energy to supply its facilities. In the fall of 2025, Avrora plans to complete the installation of panels at the logistics hub in the village of Stoyanka, Kyiv region.

EcoPolitics previously reported that solar panels have become not only a trend but also a way to overcome the energy crisis.
