Companies invest three times more in green energy than a year ago

The number of Ukrainian companies willing to invest in alternative energy has increased to 22.2%. More than 76% of companies are considering such investments.

These results are presented in a study by SUNSAY NRG. This was reported by the publication EnergoReforma.

SUNSAY NRG, a company specializing in solar energy, conducted a survey among Ukrainian entrepreneurs on the attitude and awareness of Ukrainian businesses towards green energy and their readiness to implement alternative energy sources.

Sociologists report that 270 representatives of Ukrainian companies were involved in the study, including representatives of enterprises of various sizes and industries. They analyzed companies' attitudes toward green energy, the obstacles they see to the transition to clean energy, and how entrepreneurs assess the role of the state in promoting the use of alternative energy sources.

"The results of the study indicate a growing interest in alternative energy among businesses. More and more companies are not only aware of the importance of green transformation, but are also willing to invest in sustainable energy, even despite the current challenges. We see a clear signal: Ukrainian businesses are looking for stability and energy independence and are ready to implement innovative solutions," said SUNSAY NRG CEO Serhii Zinkevych.

What has been achieved?

Entrepreneurs shared their thoughts on energy storage systems for the first time. The survey results showed the great prospects that the Ukrainian energy market offers to companies.

“We paid particular attention to the business's assessment of the prospects for solar power stations and energy storage systems. These solutions are becoming key to ensuring energy stability, increasing efficiency, and optimizing costs in the long term,” said Alexander But, Technical Director of SUNSAY NRG.

Over the past year, awareness of alternative energy among respondents has increased by 15.5%. Respondents cite low awareness and the high cost of implementing green energy as the biggest obstacles. But even this indicator has decreased from 44.9% to 25.2%.

The lack of relevant specialists in the field also discourages respondents from investing. They emphasize the need to implement educational programs in the field of energy.

The amount of investment compared to last year's results has also increased significantly from 6% to 20.2%. The percentage of those who plan to invest in alternative energy is 40.5%, and 35.8% are interested in this opportunity.

According to Serhii Zinkevych, such studies help to better identify the needs of entrepreneurs, better navigate new trends, and make the right strategic decisions for their companies. Experts will continue to study business needs and share news in this area.

SUNSAY NRG experts emphasize that this is their second such initiative, and the results of the study show the importance of energy independence and stability for business development.

Earlier, EcoPolitic reported that most countries will not be able to triple their renewable energy capacity by 2030, as promised at COP28, due to the gap between global ambitions and national plans.
