In Davos, Ukraine's DTEK Group and Denmark's Vestas, the world's leading wind turbine manufacturer, signed an agreement to build the second phase of the Tiligul wind farm in Mykolaiv region.

According to DTEK, the project will be the largest wind farm in Eastern Europe built over the past decade. The company also says that this €450 million commitment is the largest private sector investment in Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 and the largest private investment in the country's energy sector in history.
Indicators of the planned wind power plant
The second stage of the Tiligul wind farm, which is the world's first wind farm built during the war, will increase its capacity from 114 to 500 MW. For this purpose, 64 Vestas wind turbines are planned to be installed.
It is estimated that at full capacity, the wind farm will generate 1.7 TWh per year. This is enough to provide electricity to 900,000 households.

Where does the funding come from?
For construction, DTEK attracted €370 million in loans with the support of the Export Credit Agency of Denmark. Most of these funds will be used to finance Vestas EnVentus V162-6.0 MW turbines. DTEK will finance the rest of the project cost with its own funds.
When they start building
The construction of wind turbines should start in the 1st quarter of this year. The company says that cable networks and the foundation have already been laid. Construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
