The Commercial Court of Lviv Region terminated the land lease agreement between Truskavets City Council and Skole Wind Farm LLC and ordered the company to return the land provided for construction to the community.

The decision in this case is available in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

The said land plot of 1 hectare is located outside the village of Oryv, Skole district, Lviv region.

In 2014, Skole Wind Farm LLC leased it for 49 years for the construction and maintenance of a wind farm. However, starting in July 2021, the company stopped paying rent for the use of the community's land. This was the basis for the termination of the lease agreement. During this time, the company owed the community about UAH 260 thousand.

According to Espresso.Zakhid, one of the company's co-owners is a Swiss citizen, Daniel Wyss, who was sanctioned by the United States for his ties to Russia. Together with Ihor Ronchevych, he is also a co-founder of Carpathian Wind Farm LLC and Smerechanska Wind Farm LLC.

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, Wyss helped sanctioned Russians hide their wealth abroad through his companies.

Earlier, EcoPolitic reported that the construction of a wind farm, which will consist of more than 20 wind turbines, is underway in the Volodymyr district of Volyn region.
