In the village of Borodyanka, in the Kyiv region, a line for ecological processing of construction waste started working in November.
This was announced by Borodyan settlement head Iryna Zakharchenko on Facebook.
She said that modern equipment was placed at the work site, dust suppression systems were installed, and material was sorted for further processing. Qualified personnel involved in processing have undergone special training.
Iryna Zakharchenko also reported that the local authorities were able to start the recycling process thanks to the specialized equipment provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
"This technique will greatly speed up the processing process," she is sure.
The official emphasized that it is important to apply the ecological principle to the disposal of construction waste, as well as for household waste – to sort, recycle and reuse the material.
According to her, Kyiv Oblast became the first in Ukraine to introduce a comprehensive system of construction waste processing. The obtained raw materials can be used for the restoration of the area: in the construction of road bases, as a filler for building mixtures and structures, etc.
Mykola Boyko, First Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, as well added that, in 2024, it is roughly planned to process 15-20 thousand tons of demolition waste. In 2025, this forecast figure is more than 50,000 tons. The official said that currently the enterprise has started work on clearing temporary storage sites for waste from the destruction of the Makarivska and Borodyanska territorial communities.
