The court satisfied the claim of the eco-inspection in full

The Ingulets River Canal Administration contributed UAH 1,286,193 to the state budget for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere without the appropriate permit.

This was reported in the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

The agency said that in 2017, they conducted a routine inspection of the Bashtan Interdistrict Water Management Department and found that the company was emitting pollutants into the air without any permission during its activities.

According to the Methodology for calculating the amount of compensation for damages caused to the state as a result of excessive emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, eco-inspectors calculated the damage in the amount of almost 1.3 million hryvnias. In order to recover this amount, the inspection filed a lawsuit with the Commercial Court of the Mykolaiv region. The court satisfied it in full.

Since the Ingulets River Canals Department is the public legal successor of the Bashtan inter-district water management, it paid the full amount of the damages to the state budget.

The other day, EcoPolitic reported that Kyiv city military administration issued order, which stopped the permit of the metallurgical enterprise "ADM" LLC for emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. The reason was the exceeding of standards recorded by the eco-inspection, prescribed in the emission permit issued to the plant.

At the beginning of September, we informed that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih PJSC reimbursed more than UAH 10 million in damages to the environment due to emergency emissions into the air.
