This applies, in particular, to power generator equipment, batteries, and equipment for solar generation

On July 27, 2024, laws No. 3854-ІKh and No. 3853-ІKh on the exemption from duty and VAT on the import of energy equipment into Ukraine came into force.

It is reported by the State Customs Service.

In particular, the Laws provide for the possibility of applying exemption from duty and VAT when importing energy equipment into Ukraine:

  • electric generator equipment;
  • equipment for wind and solar generation;
  • batteries (except low capacity batteries).

The State Customs Service reminded that the adopted legislative changes include such important goods for the population as:

  • electric generators;
  • inverters;
  • lithium-ion batteries and charging stations based on them;
  • solar panels for repair and/or replacement from damage and capacity expansion of existing solar power plants.

For unknown reasons, the adopted laws did not include equipment for wind energy, which is imported under the UKTZED code 8502 31 00 00.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Cabinet allocated UAH 759 million for preferential loans for RES for businesses and citizens. Also, EcoPolitic told that Ukrainians have already started receive interest-free loans for the purchase of energy equipment under this program.
