They will help arrange garbage collection and removal

The Government of Japan and the European Union have funded the purchase of 28,000 waste collection containers in 18 communities in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

This was reported by UNDP Ukraine on Facebook.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) handed over 2 types of tanks to the residents:

  • 25,000 garbage containers with a capacity of 120 liters for private households;
  • 3,000 containers of 1,100 liters, which will be placed near high-rise buildings.

The city of Chernihiv and 5 communities of the Chernihiv region, including Ivanivska, Kiinska, Kyselivska, Novobilouska and Novobasanska, received 23,790 containers of various capacities.

4,210 containers were also received by 12 communities of the Kyiv region, among them Gostomelska, Velikodymerska, Borodyanska, Dmitrivska, Makarivska, Bashivska, Grebinkivska, Dymerska, Buchanska, Irpinska, Ivankivska, and Zgurivska.

The UNDP reminded that most of these communities previously received modern garbage trucks, which can already be seen on the streets of the settlements.
