Inspectors of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Central District, together with police officers, found and removed poaching nets with fish of various species from the water in the Sulynskyi landscape reserve of national importance. They estimated the amount of damage caused by illegal fishing at about UAH 4 million.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Central District on Facebook.

From June 26 to June 28, experts checked compliance with environmental legislation on the territory of the Sulynskyi landscape reserve of national importance. They found 34 cape nets in the water with a total length of over 2 km.

Taking into account the significant damage caused and the significant amount of fish caught at this object of the nature reserve fund (PZF), the eco-inspectors sent the materials on this fact to the law enforcement authorities to identify and bring to justice the persons guilty of this offense.

They emphasized that after the end of the "Nest-2024" operation, the State Environmental Inspection of the Central District, together with the water police sector of the GUNP in the Poltava region, will continue to implement enhanced measures to comply with the requirements of environmental legislation on the territory of the "Sulinsky" landscape reserve.
