Mines and unexploded ammunition add to the difficulties in the fight against them

In the Kharkiv region, firefighters are extinguishing 14 large-scale forest fires on a total area of more than 3,700 hectares. Most of the fires were caused by the occupiers' attacks on forests.

These figures are reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

So far, 12 fires have been localized on a total area of more than 2,300 hectares.

The SES says that the enemy continues to mercilessly strike at Ukrainian forests, and rescuers and foresters have to work with a constant risk to their lives from shelling and the detonation of mines and unexploded ordnance.

In April, EcoPolitic published photo of how the ecosystem is restored after the fire near Tyagle Lake in Kyiv.
