The eco-initiative will cover all schools of the regional center

Starting on April 22, schools in Uzhhorod will join a waste management training project: students will sort the waste generated by their schools.

This was reported by the Uzhhorod City Council on Facebook.

"Students of Uzhhorod will learn proper handling of waste for a month, because it can and must be turned into a resource," the city council reports.

It is noted that the AVE Uzhgorod waste removal company has started installing sorting containers in the premises and on the territories of all schools of the regional center. All garbage generated by schools on a daily basis will be recycled, and sorted waste will be sent to recycling plants.

"We sincerely hope that the sorting skills acquired by schoolchildren will take root and turn into a good tradition," the city council emphasizes.

The AVE Uzhhorod company reports that at the end of May, all the recyclables that will be collected in each of the schools will be weighed. The first 5 winning schools will receive valuable prizes from the society.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Poltava community, the ecobus has again started collecting hazardous waste in schools since April.
