Strict measures will be taken to prevent violators from littering the coastal zone with impunity in the future

In the village of Voskresyntsi of the Kolomyia community, near the Sretensky Bridge on the dam, the municipal inspection set up photo traps to identify violators who pollute the coastal zone and create illegal landfills.

This was reported by the Kolomyia City Council on Facebook.

Two weeks ago, thanks to concerned community members who contacted the city council's round-the-clock hotline, another offender was punished.

"Unfortunately, there are irresponsible people among us who leave garbage in the forests and along the banks of water bodies and do not consider it necessary to conclude a contract for solid waste removal. Therefore, we must take stricter measures to prevent offenders from littering the coastal zone with impunity. For this purpose, photo traps have been installed near the places where illegal dumps are formed," the city council notes.

The city council also reminds that the fine for dumping waste in the wrong place is from 340 to 1360 hryvnias, and for littering the coastal zone – from 850 to 1700 hryvnias. For enterprises, it is from 1700 to 3400 hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, during the inspection of the territory within the city of Zhytomyr, environmental inspectors of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Polissia District found an unauthorized landfill located in the area of Aviatoriv Street.
