The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will hold hearings on the topic: "Rebuilding Ukraine in accordance with the European principles of "green recovery".

This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The agenda of the hearing will be as follows:

    1. The current state of legislation in the field of Ukraine's reconstruction and its compliance with the principles of sustainable development: compliance of the national legislative framework with the principles of "green recovery".
    2. International recommendations for Ukraine to achieve Green Deal goals in the reconstruction process.
    3. Tools and mechanisms of "green recovery":
  • General tools: supervision and control over the recovery processes based on the principles of sustainable development;
  • sustainable recovery and integrated resource management: sectoral issues.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the international working group on the environmental consequences of the war proposed that Ukraine include climate policy and green recovery in the powers of the current Vice Prime Minister, as well as provide the necessary specialized personnel.
