In the Zhytomyr region, border guards detained a tractor driver who was transporting a trailer with illegal wood on a forest road in the Korosten district.

The police were called to the scene and seized the trailer and illegally cut trees, according to the Northern Border. State Border Guard Service" on Facebook.

It is noted that the cargo was being transported without any permits. The violation was discovered during an intelligence check.

"In addition, the border guards documented the fact of illegal felling of almost 60 alder trees in the vicinity of the vehicle stop," the report says.

It is noted that the border guards also informed the police about the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Art. 246 of the Code of Criminal Procedure "Illegal felling, or illegal transportation, storage, sale of forest".
