The domesticated animals have made way for others living on the street

During the Adoptme days festival in Kyiv, 46 dogs and cats from the shelter found their families on February 10-11.

All the animals were properly registered and their information was entered into the database of the Kyiv Pet Register, according to the Temporary Animal Shelter Exhibition Center on Facebook.

It is noted that AdoptMe Days is an event where shelters in the Kyiv region come together to find families for as many animals as possible. The festival was organized by the Gostomel Animal Shelter and Pethouse.

"The tails that went to new families made room for other poor animals living on the street," the message emphasized.

Kiyans were also urged to register animals in a single city network, as this will help reduce the number of homeless animals. And it's also faster to find your pet if it's lost.

We would like to remind you that in Ukraine, the "Hochukota" charitable foundation and the "LUN" company launched a joint social initiative "Inviting a cat to a housewarming". Those who move to a new home are offered to adopt a cat, dog or other animal from the shelter.

Earlier, EcoPolitics spoke with the well-known animal rights activist Anastasia Tykha, who opened a shelter for sick and abandoned animals from different parts of Ukraine in Irpen, "Home of special tails".
