In Odesa, an official from the Infoksvodokanal branch was fined UAH 13,000 for polluting the Black Sea with sewage.
The sewerage network breakdown occurred on January 12 on Zolotyi Bereh Street, the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District reports on Telegram.
The press service said that eco-inspectors reacted to the publication that appeared in the local Telegram channel. They inspected the scene and recorded the entry of pollutants into the Black Sea.
In addition, eco-inspectors took water samples for laboratory tests.
The damage to the state from pollution exceeded UAH 13 thousand. An official of the Infoksvodokanal branch was brought to administrative responsibility and paid the amount of damage in full.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that marine biologist Yevhen Dykyi said that due to Russian military aggression, tons of heavy metals and other toxic substances, including those from sunken ships and downed missiles, have entered the Black Sea.
