In one week, environmental violators compensated 7.3 million hryvnias of damages

In Dnipropetrovs'k region, environmental inspectors have discovered the illegal felling of 104 oak trees to the point of stopping growth in the Pyatikhatska community, causing UAH 1.48 million in damage.

This was the largest environmental violation of the week of January 26-February 1, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Facebook.

The case file was handed over to the police and prosecutors.

It is noted that Ivano-Frankivsk region has also become an anti-lead region. Thus, in the Kalush district, 71 trees were illegally cut down on the territory of the Vytvytske village council. Environmental inspectors calculated UAH 744.5 thousand in damages and handed over the case files to law enforcement.

The report said that during the week, environmental inspectors conducted 144 control measures and drew up 166 reports on administrative offenses. The total amount of fines imposed reached UAH 43 thousand.

The press service added that during this time, also:

  • eco-inspectors calculated 3.2 million hryvnias in damages for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation and presented claims and lawsuits for 634 thousand hryvnias;
  • environmental violators voluntarily and forcibly compensated 7.3 million hryvnias of damages.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in November, residents of Dnipro complained about the difficult situation with garbage removal and mass spontaneous landfills.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office achieved certain results in the investigation felling of more than 200 century-old oak trees in the grove of the Chornobyl Reserve.
