Initially, local Telegram channels suggested that the wind turbine had been knocked down by a gust of wind

On Monday, January 8, a wind turbine of Elementum Energy was damaged by a drone attack near Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa region.

After the attack, the wind farm was partially shut down, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association reports on Facebook.

It is noted that no one was injured in the attack. The National Police of Ukraine has already opened a criminal investigation into the incident and launched an investigation.

"Despite the difficult circumstances, our commitment remains steadfast. The wind farm, which was operating during the full-scale invasion, was a vital source of energy for the people of Ukraine. Our team will work together with the responsible authorities to keep our wind farms functioning," said the managing director. Elementum Energy Olga Rybachuk.

In local Telegram channels on January 8, it was assumed that the wind turbine was knocked down by a gust of wind, because it was lying on the ground, and its tower was broken in several places, reports Yug.Today.

According to the warnings of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s were expected in the Odesa region on January 8. Snow and rain, gusts of wind and a drop in temperature caused ice and sleet to stick.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Black Sea at the end of November, the most powerful storm in the last 100 years occurred, which actually washed away Dzharylgatsk and Tendriv spits. The analysis of satellite images showed that the storm destroyed the entire landscape of the spits and, probably, animal and plant life .

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in October in Great Britain lightning struck the biogas plant of Severn Trent Green Power near Oxford in Yarnton. A huge ball of fire shot up into the sky, and there were power outages in the town.
