The company claims that the direction has significant prospects

The company Recycling Solutions was the first in Ukraine to export to Poland the first 2 wagons of dry ash, which is actively used for decarbonization of industry.

This is stated on the company's Facebook page.

Dry ash is a by-product of the thermal power industry, which is widely used in the production of concrete, aerated concrete, cement and construction mixtures.

"The export of dry ash was previously impossible, because there are no terminals for its transshipment in Ukraine. Since ash, like cement, is a volatile raw material, it is too expensive to pack and cannot be transshipped openly," said Yury Kornilov, sales manager, who implemented the project.

He reminded that in 2023, the EU launched a program to reduce polluting production and close TPPs.

"We sensed that there might be a demand for dry ash and began thorough preparations, researching logistics, delivery routes and possible transshipment methods. Our first customer was one of the local cement plants. Together we found a method and a technical solution to make the first test shipment ", Kornilov added.

The company claims that the direction has significant prospects, and Ukraine can become one of the main sources of raw materials for cement production in countries such as Poland, Slovakia and Romania.

Currently, more than 250 million tons of TPP waste have been accumulated in Ukraine.

As EcoPolitic reported, Mykola Kuzmenko, owner of the closed-cycle quail farm Mykola, said that the biogas plant on the farm processes poultry manure into 200 m3 of gas every day.
