In Kyiv, the construction of the CitiZen apartment complex was resumed in the Solomyansky landscape park, despite the unfinished work to eliminate the collapse caused by the construction.
Builders brought drilling equipment to the site and started cutting down trees, the Telegram community reports "Let's save Solomyanskyi Park".
It is noted that the collapse occurred in October 2023 and the company promised to restore the park at its own expense.
"During this time, we saw a lot of strange things: the filling of the sinkhole with earth in the hope that it would prevent further landslides, and the dumping of construction displacement into the park under the guise of strengthening the landslide," the activists said. – Works to eliminate the consequences of the landslide in the park are apparently "completed".
They emphasized that part of the alleys, which are in an emergency condition, are currently blocked in the park. Kyivans demand the city authorities to take urgent measures to fully restore the park and stop construction.
Activists have been fighting for the preservation of the green zone for a long time. They turned to the Kyiv Council with three petitions. In one of them, the townspeople call for terminating the land lease agreement concluded between the Kyiv City Council and Smart Development LLC. Activists demand the return of a part of the green zone, which is within the boundaries of the land plot, to the Solomyansky Landscape Park.
According to the activists, such construction is illegal, as are the terms of the land lease agreement and the Land Code of Ukraine.
"Over the years of its existence, the Solomyansky landscape park has lost about 5 hectares of its area, and the decision on the cadastral case No. K-32678 regarding the allocation of a plot of land for the operation of the park has not yet been adopted," the appeal states.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that detectives of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine reported suspicion to the deputy head of the KMDA, Petro Olenych of abuse of office, which led to the development of 0.6 hectares of Nyvka Park.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, Kyiv residents are demanding to stop the construction of the "Gravity Park" residential complex with 13 high-rise buildings on 18 hectares of forest in the Svyatoshyn district bordering the "Holosiivskyi" national nature park.
