Foresters and families of defenders who fell in the battles planted a "Forest of Heroes" with an area of almost 2 hectares in the Zvyagel community in Zhytomyr region.
Almost 6,000 young trees were planted on a lawn near the city, the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reports on Facebook.
"This will be a living memory of our fallen loved ones. Now his name will forever be inscribed in this forest," said the mother of one of the fallen defenders.
The message explained that each row of trees is dedicated to the memory of a specific hero. The action was implemented thanks to the support of the community residents.
It is noted that foresters soon plan to plant forests in honor of the fallen servicemen and volunteers from Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, employees of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" and other residents of Ukrainian communities who made an invaluable contribution to the future victory.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, in the Obolonsky district on the street of Heroes of the "Azov" regiment, planted 15 sakuras, which will help raise money for the purchase of 15 sets of equipment necessary for soldiers.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Bakhmut in April, soldiers from the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar" planted several trees of the so-called forest of victory on the outskirts of Bakhmut.
