Both citizens and legal entities can exchange lamps

Ukrainian schools, medical institutions, condominiums and cultural institutions exchanged 1 million incandescent lamps for energy-saving new LED lamps in the branches of "Ukrposhta".

Since the start of the exchange program, Ukrainians have already replaced more than 20 million lamps, which reduced the load on the power system, the Action portal says.

It is noted that such energy saving is especially relevant in the heating season.

The message said that initially the exchange program, namely from January 2023, was available only to citizens. Since June, the initiative has been extended to schools and medical institutions, and later to condominiums and social institutions. Legal entities most actively exchange light bulbs in Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Rivne regions.

"If you haven't had time to exchange your old lamps for energy-saving ones, you can still use the service. Both natural persons and legal entities can join the initiative in the "Action" application and receive up to 5 LED lamps," the message reads.

It is noted that legal entities can exchange:

  • 3 lamps per 10 m2 in auditoriums, procedure rooms, premises of the housing fund of the manager of an apartment building, condominiums;
  • 2 lamps per 10 m2 for common areas.

To exchange old incandescent lamps for LED lamps, you must:

  • log in to the "Diya" portal using the KEP of a legal entity;
  • check information about the enterprise;
  • go to the "Services" section, select "Exchange of light bulbs" and start filling out the request as needed;
  • specify the area in the calculator to see the limit, and select the number and types of lamps within the limit;
  • put a mark on the agreement to hand over the same number of incandescent lamps;
  • indicate the location of the organization;
  • check and confirm the data regarding the generated request;
  • to sign a request for a legal entity's KEP.

"After submitting the application, representatives of Ukrposhta will contact you at the specified phone number within a week and provide further instructions for obtaining energy-saving lamps," the message says.

The press service added that the program is being implemented thanks to the support of the European Union, as a component of support for Ukraine's energy industry.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that on January 16, beta testing of the free exchange of 5 old electric lamps incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps began in Ukraine. The program is designed to help energy companies in balancing the electricity system, because such a replacement will help save up to 1.5 GW during peak hours.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Lviv region, within six months of the program to exchange incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps, it was possible to exchange and dispose of 1.6 million lamps. The region became the leader of the program.
