A car owner can save more than UAH 1,300 per month

In Kyiv, in the yard of a high-rise building on Poznyaki the owner of a Tesla Model S equipped a charging station with solar panels and a wind generator.

Near the car, there is a compact battery, a controller and an inverter to obtain the required 220V at the output, reports Glavkom.

It is noted that this will allow charging an electric car and gadgets even during blackouts.

"The desire of Ukrainians to save on utility bills sometimes transforms into nothing short of brilliant ideas," the Glavkom emphasized.

The article suggested that the payback of such equipment will be quite quick, especially if the owner will use the SES to charge gadgets. For the price of UAH 2.64 per kW and 10 charges of the weakest Tesla Model S with a 50 kWh battery, the car owner will save more than UAH 1,300 per month.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that a Ukrainian converted a ZAZ-1102 "Tavria" into an electric car with solar panels, which can travel about 50 km on one charge.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in August 2023, Ukrainians purchased a record number of electric cars (3.8 thousand), and the largest number of both new and used such cars were bought by residents of Lviv Oblast.
