Environmental violators of two regions paid 5 million UAH for half of 2023

Eco-inspectors presented 17 claims for the total amount of 51,643 hryvnias

In Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions violators of environmental legislation for the first half of 2023 reimbursed UAH 5,328,631 for environmental damage.

This is reported by the State Environmental Inspection of the Carpathian District on Facebook.

It is noted that in Ivano-Frankivsk region, environmental violators paid more than 4.2 million hryvnias, and in Chernivtsi region – 1.1 million hryvnias.

The message emphasized that in the first half of 2023, it was possible to bring 570 people to administrative responsibility for a total of 102,153 hryvnias of fines, and 99,943 hryvnias were paid.

Eco-inspectors calculated more than 1 million in environmental damage and presented 17 claims for a total of 51,643 hryvnias.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that detectives of the State Bureau of Investigation uncovered an organized criminal group in the Carpathian region of forestry officials and foresters who cut down trees worth more than 2.2 million UAH in the national natural park "Hutsulshchyna".

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, deputies of the Lviv Regional Council criticized the appointment of Oleksandr Shtepa to the post of head of the regional State Environmental Inspection and demanded his dismissal. He was appointed to the position without a corresponding public competition.
