A meeting of the State Monitoring Commission for Air Quality Protection and Management was held in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the air quality improvement plan for 2023-2027 was considered.
Among other things, the plan envisages increasing energy efficiency and reducing the number of transit road transport, the State Environmental Inspection of the Carpathian District reports on Facebook.
It is noted that the commission was created by the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and included an eco-inspector.
The plan will include:
- reduction of energy consumption by budget institutions;
- increasing the number of green spaces;
- increasing the length of pedestrian zones;
- increase of electric transport units in the public transport fleet;
- increasing the number and coverage of environmental education activities;
- increase in financing of environmental protection measures;
- acquisition of a mobile air quality observation point;
- decrease in the number of transit road transport;
- modernization and repair of boiler houses;
- increasing the energy efficiency of premises, in particular for institutions, enterprises, institutions;
- installation of energy-efficient municipal lighting, etc.
The message emphasized that the plan should be approved at the session of the city council.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Regional Department of Ecology was suspected of manipulation of tenders. The department plans to purchase 8 indicative automated air quality monitoring posts for the amount of over 11 million hryvnias, however the tender is registered for only one supplier.
